Water lily Celebration
July 14, 2007

McKee Botanical Garden is celebrating its more than 50 species of water lilies-one of the garden's trademarks-with the 3rd annual Water Lily Celebration on Saturday, July 14.
The event will include tours that showcase the garden's many spectacular water lilies, an aquatic potting class, and demonstrations by horticultural volunteers and staff on growing and maintaining water lilies and other aquatic plants. Experts will be on hand to answer any questions. Additionally, this is a great opportunity for the children to enjoy the outdoors with special water lily arts and crafts.
The celebration's finale will be marked with the Evening Water Lily Stroll led by Andreas Daehnick, McKee's Director of Horticulture. Stroll along the garden walkway experiencing the evening character and charm of McKee as day turns to night and the night blooming lilies make their stunning appearance.
The daytime Water Lily Celebration events, which will take place from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., are free to McKee members and open to the public with regular garden admission of: $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and $3.50 for children ages 5-12. These events include: tours at 10:45 a.m. and 1 p.m., a potting class at 11:30 a.m., and demonstrations at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The evening stroll will take place at 7:30 p.m. and cost $10.
