Elizabeth’s at the Garden Café is open 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and Sunday, noon to 2:30 p.m. The updated menu features a selection of gourmet sandwiches and salads including the Garden Rachel which features hot pastrami and aged Swiss with coleslaw and thousand island dressing on marble bread, a classic California BLT called ‘the Plumbago,’ as well as the ‘Royal Palm’ - Elizabeth’s signature salad with dried blueberries, carrots, feta and candied pecans on a bed of mixed greens topped with mustard-tarragon vinaigrette and a scoop of chicken salad. The menu also features choices for children along with sweets and an ever-changing variety of daily specials.

 

Managing the café will be Gregory “Jake” Flanagan. Jake, a native of Albany, New York, has been a chef with Elizabeth D. Kennedy & Co. since 2006. Jake began his culinary training in classic French and new American cuisine. Over the past several years, he has lived and worked in many locales including the U.S. Virgin Islands, Miami, Las Vegas and Charleston, among others and believes that his travels have been his best education, providing exposure to many cultures and cuisines. Jake applies a simple approach to cooking and states, “Food shouldn’t be complicated. Hot or cold, it’s a matter of ingredients and seasoning.” Locally, Jake also worked at Ellie’s restaurant formerly of Royal Palm Point in Vero Beach.
